If you subscribe to the weekly brief, we store the email address you submit and the date you submitted it. It is used to send the newsletter and nothing else. We do not sell or rent email addresses. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by asking us through the tips page.

News tips

The tips form stores the message you send and, if you choose to provide them, your name and email address. Name and email are optional — anonymous tips are accepted. Tip contents are used for editorial purposes and sources are protected.

Analytics

We use standard web analytics to understand aggregate traffic — pages viewed, referring sites, general device and location data. This is used to improve the publication, not to identify individual readers.

Cookies

The site uses only the cookies and local storage needed to serve pages and measure aggregate traffic. We do not run advertising trackers.
